Road Resurfacing Projects Coming to Ward 6 in 2026

Investing in safe, accessible, and well-maintained roads continues to be an important priority for our community.

In 2026, road resurfacing and infrastructure improvement projects will take place on Columbus Way, Sawmill Valley Drive, and Sandford Street as part of the Town of Newmarket’s ongoing infrastructure renewal program. These upgrades help improve road safety, extend the lifespan of infrastructure, and enhance accessibility for residents, pedestrians, and cyclists.

The work will include:

  • Grinding and resurfacing of roadways

  • Line painting and pavement markings

  • Catch basin repairs

  • Curb and sidewalk repairs

  • Accessibility improvements

Construction is expected to begin during the summer months and will take place in phases throughout the season.

Throughout the work, access to homes and businesses will be maintained as much as possible. Residents will receive advance notice regarding construction timelines and any temporary disruptions, including short-term driveway access impacts while work is being completed.

These infrastructure investments are important to maintaining the quality of life residents expect in Ward 6 and ensuring neighbourhood roads remain safe and reliable for years to come.

Residents are encouraged to follow the Town’s resurfacing project page for the latest construction schedules, timelines, and updates related to their neighbourhoods: Hey Newmarket – Road Resurfacing Updates

Thank you to residents for your patience and understanding as this important work moves forward.
