Responsible Growth & Community Investment

Kelly believes growth should strengthen Newmarket while protecting the qualities that make it such a special place to live.

Her work has included supporting responsible planning through initiatives such as the Shining Hill Secondary Plan, advocating for expanded green space and community infrastructure, and balancing new investment with long-term financial sustainability.

Throughout her time on Council, Newmarket property taxes have remained approximately 10–19% below the GTHA average while the Town continues to invest in services, infrastructure and community amenities.

Housing, Health & Community Support

Kelly has also been a strong advocate for initiatives that support residents through every stage of life, including:

  • The new Inn From the Cold facility

  • Housing and homelessness solutions

  • The Mental Health Community Care Hub

  • Trinity Glen supportive housing

  • Southlake Health initiatives

  • Programs and services supporting older adults and vulnerable residents

Deep Roots in the Community

Newmarket isn't simply where Kelly serves—it is home.

Kelly has raised her family in Ward 6 and has spent decades volunteering, supporting local organizations and helping build connections across the community.

Her involvement with the Terry Fox Run stretches back more than four decades, reflecting something that has defined Kelly throughout her life: a belief that strong communities are built by people who are willing to show up, contribute and care for one another.

That same philosophy guides her work as Councillor.

Looking Ahead

Kelly is proud of what Ward 6 has accomplished, but she knows there is more work ahead.

As Newmarket continues to grow and change, she remains committed to protecting strong neighbourhoods, investing responsibly in the services and infrastructure residents rely on, supporting a safe and inclusive community, and ensuring Ward 6 continues to have an experienced and effective voice at Council.

Accessible.
Experienced.
Community-focused.

Kelly Broome is ready to keep working for Ward 6.
