Recognizing Gloria Malcolm’s Impact in Our Community

Congratulations to Gloria Malcolm, this year’s recipient of the Town of Newmarket’s Community Award for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Sponsored by the Newmarket Public Library, this award recognizes individuals and organizations who are leaders in promoting equity, inclusion and belonging, and who work every day to break down barriers in our community.

Gloria has been a pillar of support for the Newmarket African Caribbean Canadian Association (NACCA) since its inception. Through her hospitality, cultural programming and mentorship, she has helped create a welcoming sense of belonging for Black residents and strengthened NACCA’s mission. Her leadership continues to make Newmarket a more inclusive, vibrant and connected community.

Established in 2018, the Newmarket African Caribbean Canadian Association (NACCA) is a registered charity providing strong leadership for our diverse Black community, especially youth. NACCA serves Newmarket and surrounding areas through education, partnerships and community programs that empower and unite the African Canadian community while fostering allyship and cross-cultural learning.
