As your Ward 6 Councillor and a proud member of the Mulock Park Ambassador Group, I’m excited to share the latest update on the incredible progress happening at Mulock Park. Every season brings us closer to opening day, and this month’s advancements highlight the care, creativity and vision behind one of Newmarket’s most transformative projects.

A Park Taking Shape

Significant progress continues at the Mulock House, the centerpiece of the property. Interior structural upgrades are now complete, and work on the new elevator shaft and atrium is progressing well. Veranda railings and columns have been reconstructed with attention to heritage detail, while the surrounding deck is being rebuilt to ensure both beauty and long-term durability. Accessibility improvements along the south side of the House are taking shape, reflecting the Town’s commitment to inclusive public spaces. New windows are expected to arrive soon, adding another layer of restoration to the historic home.

Across the grounds, Mulock Park is steadily coming to life. Permanent asphalt trails are being laid, forming the pathways that will guide residents and visitors through the park’s natural and cultural features. The playscape area is advancing as rubber surfacing is installed, providing a safe and colourful foundation for children to explore and enjoy. Electrical power is now active throughout the site, and the main buildings are rapidly taking form. The Conservatory, Maintenance Building, Skate Pavilion and Art Studio all continue to see exterior walls, roofing and internal systems put in place.

One of the most exciting milestones this month is the progress on the 340-metre winding skate trail. The concrete base and refrigeration piping have been completed, and with the concrete poured ahead of schedule, this signature feature is moving quickly toward becoming a year-round attraction for families, friends and skating enthusiasts.

As your Councillor, I am inspired by the vision taking shape. Mulock Park will offer something for everyone, whether you enjoy walking on shaded trails, taking part in arts and culture programs, skating with family or simply gathering in a place designed to bring people together.
