With the extreme cold weather forecasted for today and the rest of the week, the Town of Newmarket reminds residents and community members that those looking to stay warm can visit one of the Town’s facilities during its hours of operation.

Residents are invited to the following Town of Newmarket facilities to stay warm at:

Magna Centre - 800 Mulock Drive
Monday to Friday
6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday
7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Ray Twinney Complex - 100 Eagle Street West
Monday to Thursday
5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Friday
5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Saturday
8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sunday
7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Newmarket Public Library - 438 Park Avenue
Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday
9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Friday & Saturday
9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday
1 to 5 p.m.

Town of Newmarket Municipal Offices - 395 Mulock Drive
Monday to Friday
8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Town reminds residents that health problems can result from prolonged exposure to cold, such as frostbite and hypothermia. For more information about how to stay safe during extreme cold conditions, visit York Region (The Regional Municipality of York) website at york.ca

INN From The Cold (510 Penrose Street) provides overnight accommodation for those seeking temporary housing, meals and clothing. Inn from the Cold is open from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m., seven days a week from November to early April. For more information, call 905-895-8889.
