Mulock Park Enters Final Construction Season Ahead of Summer 2026 Opening
One of the most exciting community projects in Newmarket is entering its final construction season.
Mulock Park continues to make significant progress and remains on track for a summer 2026 opening. As warmer weather returns, work across the 16-acre community space is shifting into its final stages, bringing the vision for this transformational public space closer to reality.
Over the winter months, construction crews continued advancing major elements of the project, including roofing, exterior cladding, interior drywall and painting, lighting installation, and testing of several major building systems.
One of the park’s most anticipated features, the refrigerated skating trail and rink area, has also reached an important milestone, with the concrete surfaces completed and the chiller system now undergoing testing ahead of next winter’s operations. The geothermal heating and cooling systems and additional electrical infrastructure are also being powered up and tested throughout the site.
As construction continues through the 2026 season, the focus will increasingly shift toward landscaping, pathways, planting, and finishing touches that will help bring the park fully to life.
Once complete, Mulock Park will become one of Newmarket’s premier community gathering spaces featuring natural discovery areas, public art, a greenhouse conservatory, an artist studio, event spaces, trails, and year-round recreational amenities for residents of all ages.
What makes this project especially meaningful is how deeply it has been shaped by the community itself. Thousands of residents helped contribute ideas and feedback throughout the planning process to help create a destination that blends recreation, culture, heritage, conservation, and community connection together in one extraordinary space.
Mulock Park represents more than just a park project. It is the restoration of a historic property and the creation of a vibrant public space where residents will gather, connect, celebrate, and create memories for generations to come.
